Officials with the Burkburnett Police Department said they got the report of the naked woman around 4:30 a.m. Friday, February 26. Authorities said a witness reported the naked woman went into the Maverick Trucking Yard on Ameron Road. While a search was in progress, officers said a man began yelling from across the parking lot and they located Jefferson inside of a running semi-truck, attempting to put it in gear and leave. According to authorities, Jefferson ignored their commands to put her hands behind her back, then resisted their efforts to handcuff her. The arrests followed an investigation by the Department of Combating Human Trafficking and Protection of Public Morals at the General Department of Investigation and Criminal Evidence. The suspects include a 44-year-old Asian National and 17 women who are all Africans by nationality. There are all charged with smuggling domestic workers and violating residency laws. The arrests followed a tip-off received regarding illegal operations conducted by the group. Investigation resulted in identifying and arresting the suspects. February 20, 2022

Blair , 38, for charges including aggravated statutory rape,  according  to Sheriff  Joe Guy . She allegedly contacted nine teenage boys on social media and offered them items in exchange for what officials described as “sexual encounters.” Guy voiced concern there could be more victims. “The current charges are related to 9 confirmed male juvenile victims, related to incidents which occurred from Spring of 2020 through late 2021,” Guy said. “7 of the victims are still juveniles. 2 were victimized as juveniles but are now adults. We suspect there may be additional juvenile victims and we encourage them or their parents to contact us. The estimate includes the suspected high number of unreported incidents. And the Federal Trade Commission, which tracks reported scams on a database, said  actual losses from romance scams  rose to $547 million in 2021, up from $307 million in 2020 and $202 million in 2019. The people behind the rip-offs pretend to be attractive young women. They connect with men through online apps and dating sites, and coerce them into providing sexually explicit photos and images of themselves These "women" most often are professional criminals preying on fear and shame to extort money.
